Amidst The “6 Of 6 Close Tilts” ‘Offs, “A” (Great?) Baseball Note
Amidst the ‘offs all on ABC and they are 6 for 6 in getting close if not good tilts, manifesting in (2-1) series leads with #’s 4 at home tonight in L.V. and tomorrow in N.Y, for the Golden Knight and Knicks, a note, few, if anyone else caught (I could catch, not hit or pitch but I know this near rhyme bleep, yet ….).
Last night on a baseball schedule that included a ’93 World Series redux between the Toronto Blue Jays and Philadelphia Phillies, another tilt, the Milwaukee Brewers win OVER the A’s in Las Vegas, yes L.V. resulted in the same (15-14) score, as was the case in the key Jays #4 win at the “Vet” in Philly, those near 33 years ago. (One day I will tell my story, regarding that one, as then HBO’er, Brien A. McDonald and I arrived late, but oh what we saw and where did it all go?!!).
Additionally, last season the Blue Jays came oh so painfully close, to making it (3-0) in W.S. play, but lost in 11 innings to repeat L.A. for the first time in Dodgers’ history, with Don Mattingly as a coach.
Now it is Mattingly in as Phils’ manager (they are 26-11 with him since Rob Thomson (see his record after being named Mgr. into the ’22 season, as the Phils “wild carded” to the W.S. before being 6’d by Houston) was let go, doing so in last night’s win at Toronto. Nobody but me!!
Click above for highlights as “Tor” scored the game’s final 4– #4/’93 W.S. runs, to take a (3-1) lead in an eventual 6 game triumph. Devon White, his name not cited, via editing, delivered the game’s final 2 runs in that 6 run Jays 8th with a triple.
