Second Year, Golden State Valkyries Won The 2026 WNBA Title

The Golden State Valkyries, in just their second season of existence won a home game seven vs the Atlanta Dream to win the WNBA title, which concluded three nights after the Milwaukee Brewers won a first title, theirs in the 56th completed Milwaukee season.

Gabby Williams, pictured above playing for France, in her first season with the Valkyries, was the game seven star, hitting for 30 points, 28 scored in the second half.

Williams was named final round MVP.

A similar team A/Team B game configuration, though in a 2-3-2, not 2-2-1-1-1 format manifested in the 1960, 1964 and 2014–the latter with another S.F. team, the Giants winning a third crown in 5 seasons with no subsequent ones.
