Home, “Sweet Home,” Thus Far In The ‘Offs
It has been an incredible run of success for the home teams, certainly in the NBA ‘offs (11-0) and (8-3) ATS with the NHL mark at (8-2).
I “warn” it will change a bit, having done so a bit last night with 2 NHL road team victories and two losing road teams at least losing by less than perceived, in fact as was the case in Caroliona/Isles NHL, doing so in a heartbreaking manner.
The defending champion Denver Nuggets, who overcame a 20 point deficit and beat the L.A. Lakers when “Jam” Murray hit “tied” at the buzzer, and New York Knicks, (they miraculously overcame a 5 point deficit in the last half minute and rode Donte DiVincenzo’s “last points,” decisive, second chance “3” to a 1 point win) each have (2-0) “held serve,” round of 16 series leads vs L.A. (Lakers) and Philly (76ers) respectively.
Powerful Carolina (Hurricanes) came from nowhere, down (3-0) at one point, and scored an incredible 3 goals in the last 2:45 or so, to (5-3) the New York Islanders for a (2-0) round of 16 series lead.
It is still early, however, very likely, there will be a 2022 quarterfinal series redux, contested between the top ranked New York Rangers and the third ranked and actual plurality Cup favorites, Carolina Hurricanes.
The Rangers won game 7 of that series, easing (6-2) at Carolina.
