Cleveland Indians Amidst The Cavs’ Hysteria, Are Ahead In The A.L. Central

June 23, 2016

I was hoping it would be the Cleveland Indians and not the Cleveland Cavaliers that ended the title drought in that city.

That was not meant to be but the Indians, winners of 6 straight games amidst the Cavs’ hysteria have built a little bit of a lead, (3 games), in the A.L. Central.

It was the Indians and not the Cavaliers nor old Browns (certainly not the new Browns), who came closest to a Cleveland major sports’ league title during the nearly 52 years the city was without one.

They led the Florida Marlins (2-0) in the 7th inning of game 7 of the 1997 World Series and more relevant, (2-1) going to the bottom of the 9th inning.

However the Marlins rallied to tie the game in the 9th inning and won it on Edgar Renteria’s hit in the 11th inning.
