NBA Playoffs: Road Teams Continue to WIn
While the Brooklyn Nets won at home to go up two games to one vs the Toronto Raptors, the road team made it three for three in both the Portland Trail Blazers/Houston Rockets and Washington Wizards/Chicago Bulls first round series.
Going into today’s action the road team has gone (12-10) in the 22 games played. This is unprecedented success for the road teams in the 31 years of no byes/first round play which began in 1984.
Only the Miami Heat have gone (2-0) at home and even they struggled in their game two win vs the Charlotte Bobcats.
I think eventually home teams will win more often but do not be surprised if this road winning trend continues. The teams are obviously fairly well matched and that is a big reason for the road team’s success thus far in the NBA playoffs.
