WNBA Update
Tonight, in a third “reg” clash and second in “Sin City”/Las Vegas (remember when sports leagues wanted no part of “Vegas” or gambling?!!) the defending WNBA champion, (27-3) Las Vegas Aces are 7 point favorites, vs the (24-6) New York Liberty.
The expanded WNBA season is now 40 games, ending on September 10th, going “against” the first Sunday of pro pig.
One would think if the Aces get at least a split in the next 2 games, vs the Liberty (the two top teams clash again in L.V. on Thursday night. The Connecticut Sun were bidding for the “2” seed, but losses to teams other than the Aces or Liberty, quelled that bid, certainly for now), they will be the “1” seed and have home advantage, in the very likely case that they meet the Liberty in the WNBA final round.
Las Vegas and the New York Liberty have split their 2 clashes thus far, each winning at home with the Liberty going off “plus 5” and ripping the Aces in their win.
Now “7,” a familiar, if not good “Vegas” number, but these teams are pretty close, the value was in plus 5 at home, vs plus 7 on the road.
Tonight: Aces by 10. Liberty stay in it with a split, somehow in these two.
Aces to get the top mark and I guess it is these two in the final, certainly what ESPN/ABC which just “housed” Jones to third or fourth and “seconded” Ryan Ruocco, (another blow but that how it go!!) wants.
