Detroit Tigers Notes
The Detroit Tigers have not won a World Series since 1984. That of course is 32 years, 16 until 2000 and 16 now.
They have won multiple one eighth division titles but nary a World Series game since defeating the San Diego Padres in game 5 of the 1984 World Series.
Detroit was swept in 4 straight W.S. games by the San Francisco Giants in the 2010 Fall (not so) Classic.
As was the case with the most recent title clinchers in major league baseball, the NHL and NBA, that 2010 World Series and in fact the last Tigers’ winning World Series in 1984 ended on Sundays.
