ESPN.com Mistakes Cal Poly and Cal Irvine

Someone was asleep at ESPN.com yesterday afternoon. On their site pertaining to college basketball scores they listed Pacific as a (55-53) winner vs California Irvine in The Big West Conference championship game. Actually, that was the score of the Pacific vs Cal POLY (!) semi-final game played the night before.

ESPN.com listed the semi final score (Pacific vs Cal Poly) as though it was the FINAL SCORE of that night’s upcoming Championship game which matched Pacific and Cal IRVINE (!). They listed it well before the start of the 10:30 Eastern game.

The score read Pacific 55 Cal Irvine 53. For the record the game was played and Pacific beat Cal Irvine won 64-55.
