Worth Noting, Though Regular Season
As stated here before I do not place any real emphasis on regular season Basketball or Hockey unless it is for actual playoff qualification.
Yet there are some interesting stories in the regular seasons that are worth noting. In college basketball, Gonzaga University which has made noise in past NCAA Tournaments (the real season) is ranked first for the first time in its history. By the way, Gonzaga University is in Spokane, Washington.
Yesterday, the Chicago Black Hawks got a tying goal from Patrick Kane (in 2010 he had the Stanley Cup winning goal in overtime of game six) with just over two minutes left at Detroit vs the Red Wings. Chicago then won the game in the ridiculous shootout. The Black Hawks are now (19-0-3) while Detroit got a point for an overtime loss. I prefer ties for regular season games with no overtime and certainly no shootout.
The Miami Heat have won 14 games in a row and are virtually certain to get the best record in the NBA’s Eastern Conference. Their record is (43-14). Only the San Antonio Spurs at (47-14) have a better record.
